Toplumsal cinsiyetin hekimlik mesleğine olan etkisi, hem kadın hem de çalışan sağlığı bakımından ele alınması gereken bir konudur. Kadın çalışan sayısının oldukça fazla olduğu sağlık sektöründe hekimler nerelerde ve ne oranlarda yer almaktadır? Kadına biçilen toplumsal rollerin hekimlik mesleğini seçme ve sürdürmede etkisi var mıdır? Bu yazının amacı, toplumsal cinsiyetin Türkiye’de ve dünyada hekimlik mesleği ile olan ilişkisini konuyla ilgili yapılan çalışmalar ışığında incelemektir.

The infl uence of gender mainstreaming on doctorship must be analyzed in terms of both women’s health and worker’s health. The number of women in health sector is quite big. What is the percentage of women doctors in in health sector? Does the social role which is imposed to women have a role while they are choosing to be a doctor and deciding on going on this career? The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship of gender mainstreaming and doctorship in the light of the surveys done before.
