İnsanlık tarihinde salgınlar yerleşik toplumun tarihi kadar eski. Kuşkusuz her salgın insanlığın farklı toplumsal örgütlenme biçiminin doğayla kurduğu ilişkiyi yansıtıyor. Bugün yaşadığımız tüm salgınları kapitalizmden bağımsız düşünmek doğayı kendinde, insandan bağımsız bir süreç olarak algılamaktan ibarettir. Toplumsallaşmış bir hastalığı (salgınları) neden ve sonuçlarıyla birlikte ele almak iki alanda düşünsel konumlanış alınmasını gerekli kılmaktadır: Birincisi hastalığın nedenlerine ilişkin düşünsel bakış açımızla bağlantılı olup, “doğa ve insan” ilişkilerinin sorgulanmasıyla ilişkilidir. Bu bağ ve karşılıklı etkileşim hakkında düşünsel olarak konumlanış almadan hastalıkların toplumsallaşmasının ardındaki nedenselliği anlamamız mümkün değildir. Bu zorunlu arayış konuya ilgi duyan herkesi dün olduğu gibi bugün de ekoloji tartışmalarının içine çekecektir. İkincisi ise bu bağın somut bir tarihselliğe ait olduğu gerçekliğine dayanmaktadır. Bu nedenle yaşadığımız somut toplumsallığın sahip olduğu temel özellikler, örgütsel pratikler, bu yapıları yönlendiren iktidar ağları ve elbette sistemin hareket yasalarını belirleyen kendine özgü içsel mantığı ikinci temel soyutlama düzeyimizi oluşturur. Yazı, John Bellamy Foster ve Yapısal Tek Sağlık grubunun açtığı tartışmaları öne çıkararak bugün yaşadığımız salgını anlamaya çalışıyor. Kapitalizmin ironik olan yanı salgınların yalnızca nedeninin değil çözümünün de sermayeye ve onun kurallarına tabi oluşudur. Bugün bunun en çıplak örneğini insanlığa çare olarak sunulan COVID-19 aşı sürecinde görüyoruz. Bu nedenle yazının son bölümü küresel ilaç sanayinin örgütlenme pratiklerine yöneliyor. Sorun salgınları tedavi etmek değildir; sorun hastalıkların nedenlerinin ortadan kaldırılmasıdır. Bu da elbette yeni bir insanlık örgütlenmesi demektir

In human history, epidemics are as old as the history of sedentary society. Undoubtedly, each epidemic reflects the relationships that different forms of social organization of humanity have with nature. Considering all the epidemics we are experiencing today as independent of capitalism leads to an understanding of nature as in itself and independent of human beings. To deal with a socialized disease (epidemics) together with its causes and consequences requires an intellectual positioning in two areas: The first is related to our intellectual perspective on the causes of the disease and requires questioning of the relations between “nature and human”. It is not possible to understand the causality behind the socialization of diseases for one without questioning this connection and interplay. This obligatory search will draw anyone interested in the subject into discussions on ecology today as it was yesterday. The second is based on the fact that this link belongs to a concrete historicity. For this reason, the basic features of the concrete sociality we live in, organizational practices, power networks that direct these structures and of course the unique internal logic that determines the laws of motion of the system constitute our second basic abstraction level. The article tries to understand the epidemic we are experiencing today by highlighting the discussions opened by John Bellamy Foster and the Structural Single Health group. The ironic aspect of capitalism is that not only causes of but also solutions of epidemic is subject to capital and its rules. Today, we see the most naked example of this in the COVID-19 vaccine process, which is presented as a remedy to humanity. Therefore, the last part of the article focuses on the organizing practices of the global pharmaceutical industry. The problem is not to cure outbreaks; the problem is to eliminate the causes of diseases. This of course means a new human organization.
