Özet

  • Kamusal sağlık sistemleri 1980’lerden bu yana, küresel ölçekte ve ciddi bir biçimde dönüşüme uğramıştır. Bu dönüşümün sorumlusu olarak neoliberalizm ve onun politikaları işaret edilmiştir. Bu makalede, neoliberal politikalar sonucunda sağlık sistemlerinin kamusal niteliğinde ne gibi değişimler yaşandığını anlamak ve küresel ölçekte merkez ile çevre arasındaki benzerlikler ile farklılıkları ortaya koymak amacıyla ilgili yazının eleştirel bir değerlendirmesini sunuyoruz.

Summary

  • Public health systems have been transformed at a global scale and in a serious way since the 1980s. The culprit for this transformation has been identified as neoliberalism and its policies. In this article, we provide a critical survey of the relevant literature to understand what happened to public nature of healthcare systems as a result of neoliberal policies and identify similarities as well as differences between the center and periphery around the globe.
